Belonging is a fundamental human need. It’s the feeling of being part of a community, a group, a family. Belonging gives us a sense of purpose, meaning, and identity. It provides a support system that can help us navigate life’s challenges and celebrate its joys. And yet, for many of us, belonging can be elusive.
That’s where Family Work Space comes in. Our mission is to create a space where families can connect, learn, and grow together. We believe that when families have a sense of belonging, they are better equipped to face the challenges of life and create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
At Family Work Space, we provide a supportive environment where families can work, learn, and play together. Our space will be designed to be a home away from home, where families can come together and feel a sense of belonging. We will offer a range of programs and services to help families connect with one another, including classes, workshops, and events.
But belonging isn’t just about being part of a community. It’s also about feeling connected to a place. That’s why we’re excited to shout out the art exhibit called A Sense of Place at the Gaylord Pickens Museum in Oklahoma City. This exhibit explores the importance of place in shaping our identity and sense of belonging. It features the work of Oklahoma artists who have created pieces that speak to the unique sense of place that can be found in our state.
At Family Work Space, we believe that a sense of place is valuable in creating community. That’s why we are designing our space to be a place where families can feel at home. We want our space to be a place where families can create memories, learn new things, and feel a sense of belonging to both our space and the larger community.
Belonging is an essential human need that can have a profound impact on our lives. At Family Work Space, we are committed to helping families create a sense of belonging through our programs and services. We believe that when families have a sense of belonging, they are better equipped to face life’s challenges and create a brighter future for themselves and their communities. We encourage your family to visit A Sense of Place at the Gaylord Pickens Museum, on display in the Lorton Family Gallery April 7 – June 17, 2023, to explore the importance of place in shaping our sense of belonging.
